Are Bio-Plastics Sustainable?

Are biodegradable plastics sustainable?

Short answer – No, not in their current usage. They are a “less bad” alternative in terms of consumable bioplastic uses (disposable cutlery, cups, plates). It has some seriously bad implications if the disposal is not monitored properly.

My biggest concern with bio-plastics is the “monstrous hybrid” dilemma. When we blend natural with synthetic we create monstrous hybrids.
